Bacteriostatic water
Sterile water containing a small amount of benzyl alcohol, which inhibits bacterial growth. That preservative is what allows a multiple-dose vial to be entered more than once.
Not the same as sterile water
Sterile Water for Injection has no preservative, which makes it single-use — once entered, it's discarded. The two are not interchangeable, and neither is saline, which is an electrolyte solution rather than plain water.
A limited window once opened
A preserved multiple-dose vial is commonly cited as good for up to 28 days after first puncture. Your practitioner confirms the window for your specific product and shows you the aseptic technique for every entry.
Storage matters as much as the peptide
